You are.
You don't have to stay for long. You can show up for five minutes and then leave. But I don't think you've ever been to a party before and I'd be honored if mine was the first.

I had birthday parties as a child.
Do you expect me to dress up?

I'd expect most people to dress up. But if you don't want to, I can make an exception.
As for your first point, child parties are
radically
different than adult parties.

I remember Halloween. Costumes were always for children.

Not in the 2020s they aren't. Or hell, not even in the 1980s. I met my Toby at a Halloween party.

The vampire.
No one wants to see me there, Dorian.

I do.

There's no joking, no hint of teasing in his voice. Dorian likes Henry. Ergo Dorian wants to see him at the party.

Good. I do think you'd have an interesting time. People are always different when they're at a party than when you see them in your day-to-day life.

I won't come solely for you. Not when you are as social as you are.

I still want to see you there. I promise, the moment I see you at the party, I'll drop whatever I'm doing and come talk to you instead.
