But it's difficult not to be in control of it.

"It's alright to miss him," she says quietly. "And it's alright if you don't either. Just...glad you talked to me about it."

He huffs. "You missed the port," he finally says to change the subject.

He can huff all he wants, Trixie knows progress when she sees it. “Guess so. Heard it was caves.”

She gestures to the rocks. “That where you picked those up?”

"Yes. Zack let me off the ship and we went exploring."

And there's a bit more happiness in his tone. Something like true joy.

She can see that happiness too. It’s…oddly charming. Maybe he’d like to go out more into the Enclosure.

“What did you see?”

[weboftime]

"Lost civilizations. Small creatures. I'm- certain there was some sort of dragon."

He turns to her. "Zack had to save me from one of the larger creatures, actually."

Trixie doesn’t bother trying to hold back the snort. “He saved you, huh? Who’d have fucking thought it, Zack saving you!”

They’ve come a long way.

He looks unimpressed.

"Yes, it was thrilling," he deadpan. "But - I have something about that I'd like to ask you."

Humorless fucking Henry. Trixie rolls her eyes a little but sits up again, ready to listen.

“And what’s that?”

[weboftime]

"I want to talk about getting some of my abilities back," he ventures quietly.

[wishiwasatree]

It should be somewhat heartening to Henry that Trixie doesn't immediately turn him down or change the subject. She nods softly, wanting him to go on.

She'll hear him out at least.

"Just the - telekinesis," he explains. "You can keep the stipulation that I can't harm anyone with it, but I'd like to have it back full strength and - be able to use it in self defense."

He looks down. "I don't like being vulnerable."

She frowns softly, thinking over the request.

He'd been left vulnerable because of the caves. She can understand that piece. And it wasn't as though he was asking for a full restoration, or without her usual restrictions.

"Alright."

He looks right at her.

"Really?"

Well then.

"So if someone or something attacks me, I can use it to defend myself?"

Trixie nods softly.

"Yeah. If something or someone comes after you, you can use it to defend yourself." She hesitates, then adds, "I trust you."

She does, doesn't she? He's shown some growth over the past few months, hasn't he?

He smiles at her, then returns to his spiders.

"Thank you."

[wishiwasatree]

"You can repay me by coming on a walk with me later," she decides, getting up to her feet. "Since I missed the port and all."

[weboftime]

"Alright," he says absently, already absorbed in his work again.

[wishiwasatree]

There’s her inmate!

Trixie gets up and takes her leave. “Miss you too,” she laughs, stepping out through the door.
