Other Characters Currently In-Game: Pagan, Jacobi, Daniel, John Seed
Character Name: Henry Creel/One
Series: Stranger Things
Age: 32
From When?: After being banished to the Upside Down, Henry wanders a while before meeting the Mind Flayer and dies trying to take it over.
Inmate Justification: Henry doesn't care about humanity and doesn't understand it. He callously tortures his family for months before killing his mother and sister, and then proceeds to kill a whole bunch of kids and orderliness once he gets his powers back.
Arrival: Against his will
Abilities/Powers:
Inmate Information: Henry was once described as a quiet, sensitive boy, though many others called him “broken.” He pretended as if he doesn’t mind that label, though it affected him deeply. He learned from a young age that he wouldn’t be able to fit in, not even with his own family. Which is why, when his family moved into their new home, he was able to be alone and never attract attention. Even at twelve, Henry knew that he was better off without other people around him. Even at twelve, Henry knew that he had to learn to survive on his own because the world wasn’t able to give him what he wanted.
He developed an affinity for spiders, specifically black widows, and was fascinated by the webs they wove and the way they culled the weak from the world. He wanted to find a way to recreate that sort of support and that sort of world. He had a distaste for human constructs like time and social structures, and he didn't want to be a part of humanity's cycles, including being linked with other people. But beyond that, beyond not wanting to participate, he wanted to ensure the rest of humanity followed rules that made sense to him. He wanted to bring order to humanity the same way that the spiders did, by culling the weak.
Henry realized that he was different and started to test his abilities by mutilating and killing animals first. HIs family blamed it on a demon and thought the family was cursed, a delusion that he happily allowed his father to believe. He pried into his father's mind and began to torment him with his worst memories of the War. He terrorized his mother and sister with hallucinations and nightmares. Eventually, his mother began to suspect him and wanted to send him to different doctors or away to facilities, so he killed and mutilated her at the dinner table, tormented his father, and killed his sister in the same gruesome way. He wanted to kill his father, but was too weak and overexerted himself, falling into a coma. He never regretted what he did to them. There is a part of him that feels as if he is “saving” the people he kills from themselves. He sees their traumas and their pain and wants to release them from it, but he doesn’t see how twisted that is. He sees himself as a predator, doing what is best for the world at large.
He was taken to Dr. Brenner at Hawkins Lab where he was branded with 001 on his wrist, studied, and encouraged to develop his powers. But he was so dangerous there that he was eventually implanted with a Soteria chip, which dampened his powers and was given the position of Orderly. He was subjected to physical and emotional abuse there for years, which only solidified his anger at humanity and nihilistic view on the world. He endured it because he had to, but he built up all of that anger and mistrust over the years. Dr. Brenner, or Papa, to the others, was never able to fully break him. Whatever pain was inflicted on him never actually reached the part of him that would put him into submission. Instead, he played the long con, knowing that he would eventually find some way to escape from the chip.
He is capable of manipulation, as he did convince a young Eleven to take out the implant. But once that was done, he killed all the powerful children and armed orderliness and guards inside, except for Dr. Brenner and Eleven. And that manipulation wasn’t anything more than an actual desire to be with someone like him. Someone like Eleven, who could help him and be like him and, in his mind, rule the world together somehow.
Henry doesn’t actually want to be alone forever; he simply feels as if he’s doomed to be that way because of who he is. No one seems to understand him. No one has tried to understand him. They tried to love him without understanding and tried to control him with force, but true understanding has always evaded him. He thought that he could have that in Eleven, in someone who had experienced the same things, but she killed him, banishing him to the Upside Down.
It was there he found true understanding. A world that was governed by laws that he understood. He doesn’t know how he didn’t die, how the disintegration and the lightning didn’t end him, but he was grateful for the chance. And he saw a way to become part of that Upside Down, of the world that finally made sense. And in linking with the Mind Flayer and nearly killing himself, he ended up on the Barge.
Path to Redemption: Henry doesn't see people as people, doesn't see them worthy of any sort of empathy. He doesn't do well with a family structure and will reject anyone who wants to appeal to his humanity too soon, though it will certainly need to be addressed eventually.
Instead, he needs to be "logicked" into a different way of thinking. He can't just kill people because they displease him. He can't torment them just because he can. His power does not mean that he is above humanity. He would do well with someone who gives him a sense of structure and routine and who can challenge him mentally. He needs to be busy and he needs to be forced to be around people. Mandatory socialization is a go!
While it is unlikely that he will want to lead a normal life, Henry needs to be given another place to go. Someplace where he doesn’t have to follow the typical human routines but where he can still feel like himself. There is a part of Henry somewhere, deep, where he wants to connect with someone, and a warden can be that person. And once it extends to a single person, a human, then he is on the right path for redemption.

Special Notes: I'm cool if his nerfed powers need to be more dampened. Also, if accepted, I'm super good with not introing until September, obviously!

Arrival: Against his will
Abilities/Powers:
- Telekinesis: Henry can use his mind to bend steel doors, lift people, break bones, and anything up to that point at the expense of becoming exhausted, depending on the effort needed.
Changes: His ability to manipulate and move objects is confined to anything under 10 pounds and it exhausts him faster than usual.
Telepathy: Henry is one of the strongest telepaths in the series. He is able to reach into people's minds and dig through memories, including all of their terrible secrets and misdeeds.
Changes: Requires explicit IC (and OOC) consent
Mental Manipulation/Illusions: Henry has the ability to make people see or hear hallucinations, usually based on their own trauma, though it can theoretically be anything.
Changes: Can only do occasionally and it exhausts him for a full day afterwards (And obviously only with player permission). The hallucinations are clearly flimsy.
Astral Projection: Like Jane/Eleven, Henry is able to send his consciousness out to spy on specific people while his physical presence isn't there. His body is completely vulnerable during this time.
Changes: Requires explicit IC (and OOC) consent.
Pain Inducement: He's able to cause headaches and nosebleeds on his victims as a way to weaken them.
Changes: Nerfed completely
Healing: Henry has faster than human healing and can recover from wounds quickly. This does not include his nosebleeds and exhaustion from overexerting himself.
Changes: Fifty percent better than a human.
